Babyshowers and boating

Sorry for the lack of recent updates. Somehow time seems to be stretched recently...and that will only get worse with a baby.

So the ladies at my work threw a shower for Heather and two of the other girls I work with...one getting married, and one expecting her first kid. And I somehow was strong-armed into going. Unfortunate for me. :)
L to R: Amber (getting married), Ileana (has since had her baby), Heather, and Marguerite (the party planner).

One of the things that the girls did was draw squares for a quilt for baby Kimball that were then sewed together. Very nice!

We also had a chance to go out on Lake Norman (a large man-made lake near our house) with the Babbits. Adrienne (SisterBabbit to the girls) happens to be Josh Paulsen's little sister for any of you keeping score back home...what are the chances; and as a side note, last Monday we helped some people move into the ward who lived downstairs from us at Wymount - small world. Anyways, we ended up spending a couple hours one evening on what was essentially a glorified golf-cart on water. Seriously, this thing topped out around 12 miles an hour, did 0-60 in about 2 minutes, had a canopy with softplastic retractable windows, and was safe enough that a certain clientele of boaters wouldn't need a designated driver. Honest truth.

But the girls all had a great time their first time on a boat.
