Who is Steve Pierce?
So last month we all got to meet Jessie's (then) fiancee and (now) husband Steve when we went to Utah for their wedding. And he lived up to the advanced billing Jessie gave him. (Well, almost. I personally didn't find him as handsome as Jessie said he is but whatever, her husband, her opinion...)
Grandma Pollei arranged for he and Jessie and the rest of the Pollei crew to spend an evening at Jungle Jim's. Where else can a kid eat and then throw up what is still being swallowed while on a vomit-inducing ride all within a dozen steps? Doesn't sound like the kind of summer job I'd have wanted as a high school kid!
All our girls enjoyed it (as you can see above)...
We also got to visit great grandma and grandpa Pollei while in SLC for the wedding. It's always good to see them, and it's nice to see how well grandma is recovering from her recent hospital visits.
Fortunately our timing coincided with the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house so that we could take the girls. During the walk-through Madelin made the comment: "This temple is beautiful. I want to be married here." You won't get any complaints out of Heather and I. :)
Some of the Utah McMurray cousins were able to go with us to the open house, so we got to have more fun with their gang. I think our girls could spend all their free time with Kayli,Connor and Rosie, and never tire of it!
Of course, there was the small matter of the wedding to attend...
And the necessity for a little play time...
Believe it or not, one of the highlights for the girls during the whole darn trip was the ride around the train atop the DFW airport during our layover in Dallas. The entire airport. Seriously, well worth the time if you ever travel through DFW and have young kids.
It was all a lot of fun, but also tiring as a week on "vacation" goes.
